Bangladesh called uncapped fast thrower Hasan Mahmud on Saturday for his three-point Twenty20 deal in Pakistan, which has been engulfed in fears for the well-being of the players.
Opener Tamim Iqbal returns after bypassing a home arrangement against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe and a visit to India. Mosaddek Hossain, Arafat Sunny, Taijul Islam and Abu Hider have been removed from the squad.
“Hasan is a fast pitcher and has a decent future. So we thought maybe now was the perfect time to give him a break, ”said Bangladesh Cricket Board head coach Minhajul Abedin.
Wicket keeper Mushfiqur Rahim was forgotten after saying he would not go to Pakistan for security reasons.
A senior BCB official said batting mentor Neil McKenzie, bowling coach Daniel Vettori and mentor Rayan Cook would not do the same with the squad.

Mushfiqur, 32, remained determined to say he would not be with the squad when they left on Wednesday.
“I chose him a long time ago and educated the board. I also submitted a letter. My family is worried and doesn’t need me to go, ”Mushfiqur told reporters on Friday night.
He also kept his name on the draft for the Pakistan Super League T20 competition.
“There is no greater sin for me than not playing for Bangladesh. In any case, I had rejected an idea of playing in the PSL after discovering that the competition would take place entirely in Pakistan, ”he said.
“I agree that things have improved in Pakistan, but I will regain certainty when I see groups going there for the next two years. I’ve been to Pakistan before, it’s an amazing place to play cricket. ”
Mushfiqur’s failure to appear will be a blow to Bangladesh who are now without a suspension from versatile Shakib Al Hasan and have lost their two ongoing tests in India in three days. “I wish our group good karma,” he said.
Bangladesh play their T20s in Lahore January 24-27 before returning. They will return to Pakistan for the primary test starting on February 7 and will travel again to play a World Day in Karachi on April 3 and the second test starting on April 5.
